Supplements for mastopathy: list of approved products

Mastopathy is a disease familiar to women of all ages: from very young girls to older women.

The disease is insidious due to the absence of pronounced symptoms and the possibility of transformation into breast cancer, so this pathology should not be left to chance.

Among the medications used in the treatment of mastopathy, there is a place for hormones, anti-inflammatory drugs, and even dietary supplements and vitamin supplements.

Dietary supplements are non-medicinal products containing beneficial substances of natural and synthetic origin.

Development of mastopathy

Mastopathy is a pathological process that develops in the tissues of the mammary glands, and is provoked by dyshormonal and dysmetabolic disorders of the female body.

This pathology, according to the nature of changes in the breast, has three forms: nodular, diffuse and mixed (diffuse-nodular). Many factors can provoke the development of mastopathy.

Among them there are external and internal. External ones include:

  • poor nutrition;
  • smoking;
  • alcohol abuse;
  • environmental situation, etc.

Quitting bad habits reduces the risk of mastopathy

Internal ones are most often called:

  • diseases of the genitals (chronic and acute adnexitis, endometriosis, etc.);
  • abortions and miscarriages;
  • pathology of the thyroid gland and other endocrine disorders (diabetes mellitus, obesity, etc.);
  • genetic predisposition.

There are quite a few reasons that contribute to the appearance of pathological changes in the mammary glands, so treatment is selected individually for each woman.

For some, it will be enough to start eating right, giving up bad habits and taking a course of dietary supplements (dietary supplements), while others will need full treatment of concomitant ailments in combination with hormonal therapy.

The treatment regimen for mastopathy in each specific case is determined by the doctor.

In particularly difficult situations, when a type of mastopathy is discovered that quickly turns into oncology (precancerous condition), there may be a need for surgical intervention.

Mastopathy manifests itself differently in each woman; most often, patients report pain of varying intensity, breast engorgement before menstruation, discharge from the nipples, and in the nodular form, small lumps can be felt in the tissues of the gland.

The role of dietary supplements in the treatment of mastopathy

As mentioned earlier, one of the reasons for the development of mastopathy is metabolic disorders that occur against the background of frequent stress, low physical activity of the patient or an unbalanced diet.

Stressful situations can also give impetus to the development of mastopathy

This dependence is explained simply - every process occurring in the body, one way or another, is controlled by a variety of hormones and similar substances.

Therefore, even going to bed late can lead to dishormonal disorders.

The attending physician corrects severe deviations by prescribing hormonal medications, but often good results can only be achieved by prescribing a whole range of medications.

Dietary supplements have also found their place in the treatment regimen for mastopathy.

This group of products is necessary primarily for those patients who, for various reasons, cannot change their lifestyle or diet.

Thanks to the use of dietary supplements with plant fiber and vitamin complexes, metabolic processes are normalized, and the body receives the necessary microelements that are lacking in regular food.

The amount of nutrients in the daily menu is often much lower than normal, so it is supplemented with dietary supplements

There are active supplements based on plants that have anti-inflammatory and regenerating properties, and herbal medicines with natural hormone-like components that help quickly relieve symptoms of the disease.

The best dietary supplements for breast pathology

It is always better to entrust the choice of a product, even if it is a dietary supplement, to the attending physician, and not to rely on one’s own strength or the conscience of the pharmacist at the pharmacy. The number of different bioactive agents is simply huge, so it is worth familiarizing yourself with the drugs that are used most often. Among the most well-known dietary supplements for mastopathy, the following are used:

  • Extal-5 mastopathy;
  • Mastofit;
  • Mamma-gel;
  • Mastovit et al.

The list of dietary supplements used for mastopathy is quite wide; the appropriate one should be advised by the attending physician

Extal-5 mastopathy

This dietary supplement is available in syrup form and contains extracts of two dozen Altai medicinal herbs. The most significant components of Ekstal-5 mastopathy are ziziphora and kopeck. This remedy improves blood circulation in the tissues of the mammary glands, has a mild analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates the immune system and has a calming effect.

The product can be used by almost all women suffering from mastopathy or chest discomfort during premenstrual syndrome. At the same time, if you are allergic to certain plants, you should carefully read the full list of herbs that are contained in the Ekstal-5 mastopathy dietary supplement.

Ekstal-5 – a completely plant-based dietary supplement

Important! If a woman takes oral contraceptives (COCs) to prevent pregnancy, then taking Extal-5 mastopathy syrup should be accompanied by additional methods of contraception.

This is due to the fact that this dietary supplement contains St. John's wort, which can reduce the contraceptive effect of COCs.

Mastofit

This bioactive supplement is available in two forms (cream and tablets), the combined use of which gives a more noticeable effect than taking tablets or applying cream separately. The main components of the drug Mastofit are an extract of seaweed called fucus and an indole-3-carbinol concentrate obtained from broccoli.

Mastofit not only eliminates the symptoms of mastopathy, but also regulates the function of the thyroid gland, thanks to the presence of iodine in the composition

These natural active substances have a resolving and antioxidant effect; in addition, Mastofit is a source of easily digestible iodine. It combines well with vitamins A and E, which enhance the effectiveness of this remedy.

Unlike the previous remedy, the list of contraindications for use of the drug Mastofit is not limited to the presence of intolerance reactions.

This dietary supplement is not intended for use in women during pregnancy, and breastfeeding of an infant should be discontinued if use of Mastofit is necessary.

Patients suffering from thyroid pathologies should take the drug with caution and only after consultation with a mammologist-endocrinologist.

Mamma gel

A product for external use with a pleasant aroma, the active composition of which is represented mainly by essential oils (geranium, tea tree, juniper and thuja).

Mamma gel is a cosmetic product, but can also be used to relieve mild symptoms of mastopathy

These components have powerful antioxidant, moderate anti-edematous, bactericidal and analgesic properties.

First of all, Mamma gel is intended for the prevention of mastopathy in women at risk, that is, with an existing hereditary predisposition to pathologies of the mammary glands, premenstrual syndrome, breast injuries, as well as during menopause. Mamma gel is approved for use in nursing mothers and pregnant women.

Attention! Essential oils can often provoke local allergic reactions.

Therefore, before starting to use Mamma Gel, you need to conduct a test on a small area of skin. The appearance of itching or redness is a sign of intolerance to the drug.

Mastovit

This supplement should not be confused with the previously mentioned Mastofit.

Mastovit is available both in tablet form and in the form of filter bags

This supplement focuses on the vitamin set needed by the vast majority of women who have been diagnosed with one or another form of mastopathy.

The set of components is also completely natural; it contains iodine, garlic and green tea extracts, which have intense absorbable and antioxidant effects.

In addition, Mastovit contains a complex of three vitamins (C, A and E), which powerfully stimulate metabolic and reparative processes, not only locally - in the mammary gland, but throughout the woman’s body as a whole.

The use of this dietary supplement is not recommended if you are allergic to its components, as well as with toxic goiter or chronic use of high doses of levothyroxine (more than 100 mcg per day).

Taking Mastovit is contraindicated in case of thyroid pathologies

Treatment of mastopathy should be carried out only under the supervision of a physician with appropriate qualifications. Therapy for this disease usually requires an integrated approach and careful monitoring, so the disease, some forms of which doctors rightly call a precancerous condition, should not be left to chance.

The use of Mastovit in the form of a gel for the treatment of mastopathy is described in the video below:

How to treat mastopathy. Application of dietary supplement NSP

Mastopathy is a benign change in breast tissue in women, most often of a fibrocystic nature. With mastopathy, breast tissue grows, cysts and fine-grained seals form, which are most often painful.

The condition of a woman's breasts directly depends on the balance of sex hormones in the body. The most important roles in the physiology of the mammary gland are played by the hormones estradiol and progesterone.

Hormonal imbalance , a violation of the ratio of estradiol and progesterone concentrations, causes first functional and then morphological changes in the mammary gland.

Among gynecological diseases, cystic fibrous mastopathy accounts for more than 50%. Women aged 40-50 years are most often affected , although recently there have been frequent cases of mastopathy in young girls.

Women with mastopathy are at high risk of cancer. Breast cancer occurs 3-5 times more often against the background of benign breast diseases.

Symptoms and signs of mammary gland mastopathy

The severity of mastopathy symptoms depends on what form of the disease the woman has (diffuse, fibrocystic), and the presence of concomitant pathologies.

What should a woman be wary of:

- Painful sensations in the chest of varying severity. At the initial stage of mastopathy, pain occurs in the mammary glands only before the next menstruation.

When menstruation ends, the pain disappears. Most women do not pay attention to such painful sensations, considering them part of premenstrual syndrome.

Breast engorgement in the second phase of the menstrual cycle. This symptom is caused by venous stagnation in the vascular system of the mammary glands. The connective tissue swells, the breasts become enlarged and become very sensitive.

Discharge from the nipples of varying intensity. Normally, if there is no pregnancy or lactation, there is no discharge from the nipples and if detected, you should consult a doctor.

The appearance of seals and knots . If, upon palpation of the breast, you find lumps or enlarged lymph nodes in the armpits, you must immediately contact a gynecologist or mammologist.

Breast Self-Examination Scheme

Causes and factors provoking mastopathy

  • Pay close attention to the prevention of mastopathy, do not forget to conduct regular self-examination of the mammary glands, especially if you have noted the presence of several factors that increase the risk of developing mastopathy:
  • Hormonal imbalance : lack of progesterone, increased estrogen levels to high levels, ovarian dysfunction, relative hyperestrogenism;
  • Chronic inflammatory diseases of the reproductive sphere;
  • — Early puberty and early onset of menstruation (in girls under 12 years of age);
  • — Late onset of menopause (over 55 years of age);
  • - Absence or late pregnancy, termination of pregnancy , refusal to breastfeed, irregular sex life, hormonal contraception;

- Excess body weight, because adipose tissue is a reserve storage of estrogen;

  1. — Decreased activity of the thyroid gland, thyroid disease ;
  2. — Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver;
  3. — Smoking;
  4. — Excess animal food containing growth factors;
  5. — Injuries, bruises of the chest;
  6. — Hereditary factor.

It is important to understand that even with an existing hormonal imbalance, breast mastopathy does not develop overnight. The development of the disease will require more than one year of constant exposure to risk factors. Therefore, early diagnosis and timely correction of changes in the mammary glands .

Supplements for mastopathy

Most women from the onset of puberty to the postmenopausal period periodically experience severe discomfort in the mammary glands, and some have serious problems and suffer for many years from a common disease - mastopathy.

Classification, causes, treatment

Mastopathy refers to benign processes in the tissues of the mammary glands, which are provoked by hormonal changes associated with the development, formation and decline of a woman’s sexual function. This disease affects all ages, but most often it affects women in the most favorable period for childbearing, on average from 25 to 45 years.

The disease manifests itself as pain, intensifying before the onset of menstruation, a feeling of swelling, severe tension in the chest, which is accompanied by swelling and inflammation. Many women experience such severe discomfort and pain that they cannot not only work, but even move; they find it difficult to perform simple actions and even get dressed.

Depending on the number and forms of formations in the mammary gland, it is customary to distinguish the following types of mastopathy:

Nodular mastopathy is the most dangerous form, since many doctors consider it a precancerous condition, it causes a lot of trouble for a woman and often requires surgery to remove a particularly large node.

With the nodular form, many small formations are formed - nodes, relatively evenly distributed throughout the mammary gland.

The main reason is related to hormonal changes in a woman’s body, but there may also be accompanying factors: injuries, bad habits, the presence of other hormone-dependent diseases, obesity, stress, frequent abortions and much more.

Mastopathy in the nodular form in most cases requires surgical removal of the node, while diffuse mastopathy can be treated with medication. The doctor selects medications and dosages based on test results, the patient’s age and the presence of other diseases. Recently, various dietary supplements have become widely used for the treatment of mastopathy.

The dietary supplement includes vitamins and minerals, extracts of medicinal plants and other biologically active components, as well as fiber, pectins and other beneficial substances.

It has been repeatedly noted that some types of dietary supplements significantly reduce chest pain due to mastopathy, inflammation and swelling of the mammary gland, and relieve discomfort before menstruation.

Since excess weight plays an important role in the development of mastopathy (adipose tissue is a “storage” of female sex hormones estrogen), eliminating obesity helps normalize the condition of the mammary glands. And here dietary supplements containing substances that help “burn” fat and quickly safely lose weight can be of great help. Dietary supplement for relieving symptoms of mastopathy.

For different forms of mastopathy, the following drugs are indicated:

  • Ortho Prebio. The drug is prescribed for fibrocystic mastopathy, in the presence of PMS and painful menstruation.
  • Mastokrel.
  • Extal 5 mastopathy.
  • Fitol 1.
  • Lecithin Choline.
  • Garcinia Cambogia (this active ingredient contains many dietary supplements).
  • Balm "Revival" is used for a number of diseases of the female genital area.
  • Metovit is a remedy for combating various types of microorganisms, has the properties of a hepatoprotector, a sedative and diuretic, helps reduce swelling and inflammation of the breast, relieves pain, and has a sedative effect.

The use of herbal dietary supplements for the treatment and prevention of mastopathy

Herbal preparations have been used for centuries to treat various types of mastopathy.

Various natural oils were rubbed into the skin, for example, cedar oil has a high vitamin value and has an anti-inflammatory effect, and ingestion of herbal decoctions helps fight painful processes in the chest.

The dietary supplement of plant origin "Alfit Active" 9 has a targeted anti-mastopathy effect and is characterized by women who took it as an effective remedy that quickly eliminated the symptoms of the disease.

Can dietary supplements replace drug treatment?

It is impossible to categorically state that dietary supplements can replace medications, since these two groups of drugs have different purposes.

Dietary supplements are not drugs and actually perform auxiliary functions.

Their purpose is to saturate the body with vitamins and beneficial minerals, stimulate proper metabolism, support the immune system and have a mild tonic effect.

Dietary supplements can reduce pain during mastopathy, help fight swelling and swelling of the mammary gland, relieve inflammation, help a woman improve her condition and return her the opportunity to move freely and enjoy life.

But no dietary supplement can eliminate the very cause of mastopathy and completely cure the disease. Their use will give a pronounced effect only in combination with special medications prescribed by the doctor.

The use of NSP products for the treatment and prevention of mastopathy. Saint Petersburg

    Mastopathy has been known for more than a hundred years and still remains the most common

disease of the mammary gland. According to statistics, it occurs in 60-90% of women, mainly between the ages of 30 and 50 years. Year after year, the number of women suffering from mastopathy is growing.

According to statistics, today every eighth woman in Russia receives such a serious diagnosis.

     The main contingent consists of women suffering from various gynecological diseases (uterine fibroids, endometriosis, painful premenstrual syndrome, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, endocrine infertility).

    Mastopathy - fibrocystic disease - is a benign disease of the mammary gland, characterized by pathological proliferation of its tissues, pain, and sometimes pathological secretion.

    Mastopathy in most cases does not cause concern in women, especially under 30 years of age. But it progresses over time, so if you suspect the disease, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible.

    Treatment is selected strictly individually, depending on its form, the presence of gynecological diseases, and hormonal status. It is aimed at reducing fibrous tissue and cysts in the mammary gland, normalizing the level of hormones in the blood, eliminating endocrine diseases and inflammatory diseases in the reproductive system. Treatment can last for years.

For nodular forms, treatment begins with surgery. With such interventions, only part of the altered tissue is eliminated, so in the future a full-fledged conservative treatment is required.

Women with diffuse forms of the disease, as well as after surgical treatment,    conservative treatment

For this purpose, both HORMONAL and NON-HORMONAL methods of treatment are used. The effectiveness of each of them depends on the individual characteristics of the disease and many other factors.

Dietary supplements for Mastopathy. Complex treatment

Pathology of the mammary glands is currently becoming an area of increased attention, due to the ongoing trend of increasing incidence of breast cancer. The increase in incidence is 3-4% per year. Breast cancer occupies a leading place in terms of morbidity and mortality in the female population of working age (40-60 years).

Mastopathy is the most common benign breast disease and occurs in 70-80% of women of childbearing age according to the Federal Breast Center. ( 1993 )

According to WHO definition, mastopathy is a dishormonal hyperplastic process in the mammary gland, a fibrocystic disease characterized by a spectrum of proliferative progressive changes in mammary tissue with an abnormal ratio of epithelial and connective tissue components. (WHO, Histological classification, 1984)

From a clinical point of view, it is customary to distinguish diffuse and nodular forms of mastopathy.

Nodular forms are subject to cytological examination and surgical treatment. Diffuse forms of mastopathy require not only systematic observation, but also treatment, since they are the initial stage of precancerous processes in the mammary gland.

In order to give correct recommendations for the treatment of mastopathy, it is necessary to understand the pathogenesis of the development of the disease. What factors does the development of mastopathy depend on? We list the main ones:

  • Imbalance of the hypothalamic-pituitary system;
  • — Disorders of the female reproductive system;
  • — Diseases of the thyroid gland, liver and kidneys;
  • — Obesity;
  • — Trauma of the mammary gland, including surgical;
  • — Past mastitis;
  • — Heredity.
  • The appearance of hereditary factors can be expected if the patient in the 1st and 2nd degree of kinship has breast cancer or ovarian cancer at an early age of disease manifestation, bilateral damage to paired organs, or primary multiple neoplasms.
  • Condition of the hypothalamic-pituitary system and reproductive system.

The mammary gland is a target organ and forms part of a woman’s reproductive system, which is responsible for all hormonal changes that occur during the menstrual cycle. A woman’s menstrual function largely depends on the state of the central nervous system and, especially, its hypothalamic-pituitary department.

The regulation of the menstrual cycle is largely related to the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, which produces 8 tropic hormones that coordinate the activity of peripheral endocrine organs.

These are thyroid-stimulating hormone - TSH, somatropic - STH, corticotropic - ACTH, prolactin or lactotropic - LTG, follicle-stimulating - FSH, luteinizing - LH, melanostimulating - MSH and lipotropic - LPG.

Normal regulation of the menstrual cycle is carried out by a consistent increase in the secretion of three gonadotropic hormones.

In the first phase of the menstrual cycle, FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) predominates, and estrogen is produced in the ovaries. In the middle of the cycle, FSH and LH (luteotropic hormone) are secreted, and ovulation occurs in the ovaries.

In the second phase of the cycle, LH (luteotropic hormone) and LTG (lactotropic hormone or prolactin) predominate. Progesterone is produced in the ovaries.

The following have a direct effect on the mammary glands:

1.

prolactin is a hormone that stimulates lactation, the development of the alveolar apparatus of the mammary glands, the growth of ductal epithelial cells and sebaceous glands, activates the synthesis of specific milk proteins, stimulates the proliferation of mammary gland cells, preserves the corpus luteum in the ovaries, bringing it to the stage of maturation. Together with insulin, it stimulates the formation of fat in the mammary glands. The formation of protein in breast cells under normal conditions is under the combined influence of hormones (prolactin, insulin, growth hormone, progesterone, glucocorticoids).

2. estrogens - in the mammary glands they cause the growth and branching of the milk ducts, they are mediators of growth factor and influence the synthesis of growth factor. Hyperplastic processes in the reproductive system are formed under conditions of hyperestrogenism and progesterone deficiency.

The risk group for the development of hyperestrogenism includes patients with diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. Estrogens regulate the growth of not only the female reproductive system, but also the liver, kidneys, heart, skin and other tissues. It is believed that estrogens increase susceptibility to carcinogenic factors.

Estrogens are inactivated mainly in the liver.

3. progesterone is a hormone that prevails in the second phase of the menstrual cycle and has antiproliferative activity. Lack of progesterone leads to relative hyperestrogenism and the development of hyperplastic processes in estrogen-dependent organs.

It should also be recalled that the initial source of synthesis of steroid hormones is cholesterol. Disruption of the normal functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary system at any level can cause hormonal imbalance.

Under the influence of hormonal changes, physiological transformations in the mammary glands are disrupted and foci of pathological proliferation of the epithelium develop. Cumulated over many years, these changes lead to the development of fibrocystic disease.

 Condition of the thyroid gland and the development of mastopathy.

The presence of combined pathology of the thyroid gland and mammary glands is observed in 63% of patients. The functional state of the thyroid gland affects the state of the mammary glands, both in hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, leading through various mechanisms to hyperestrogenism.

The condition of hyperthyroidism requires treatment only by an endocrinologist. Hypothyroidism (especially subclinical hypothyroidism) is a common condition in central Russia. It occurs in 2-3% of the population, with a male to female ratio of 1:10.

Subclinical hypothyroidism in women over 50 years of age occurs in 20%.

It is possible to treat with a drug from Vita Line - "Tirohelp " - 1 drop. per day (or every other day), 2-3 packs per year.

hypothyroidism is a disease with a large number of clinical “masks”, but its most common manifestations are fatigue, pastiness and swelling, sensitivity to cold, weight gain, hair loss and dryness, hypercholesterolemia and cholelithiasis, uterine fibroids, hyperplastic processes endometrium, etc.

  1. Thus, it should be summarized that when planning programs for complex treatment of fibrocystic disease with the participation of nutraceuticals, the pathogenetic heterogeneity of conditions that can manifest themselves with the same complaints - pain in the mammary glands and have a single diagnosis - mastopathy, should be identified and taken into account when prescribing treatment.
  2. The Vita Line company has the widest selection of dietary supplements that should be used in complex therapy to correct neurohumoral and metabolic processes in patients with mastopathy.
